Who actually got a chance to run their Pro-X off into the deeper snow and give the 1.75 Lug track a run for its money? Anyone find enough snow to test it's limits or ride off trail with an Assault buddy to compare on ability? Or manage to get stuck?

I don't want to hear a story about your poor riding skills :roflmao:

Snow in the midwest last year on a scale of 1-5 was pretty much a 0! :wall:

Hopefully we will see a few big dumps of snow this year! BRING ON THE SNOW!!!

2 trips of the 4 last year to the UP, we found some spots to get off in the deeper stuff...18-24+ inches. Didn't have an Assault to compare to, but had a 2015 600 SB Adventure with us that got stuck once with the Cobra track. My 2015 800 SB Pro-X had no problems...floated around on top of the clouds :)

I know it's not the comparasin your looking for but last year we had some deep stuff at least waist deep of untouched. I was driving my prox around friends renegade as he kept digging out and....... I kept blowing snow on him. Lol. In fairness he only had a 1 1/4 so I guess it fair to say it's more capable than a full tunnel sled with an 1 1/4 same length both 137

That is pretty good video of some deep snow riding. Looks like the Pro X does pretty good off trail with the 1.75 lug as expected!

Oh boy cant hardly wait now :frantics:

Be interesting to hear what people think about the Pro-X and carving. Looks like the video its not an issue but thats alot of snow!

Pro S IMO sucks at carving. Thing fights you to stay flat

If you want to carve, grab one of these. I put it on and will be trying it this year.

Yea I have seen those. I would be interested to see how they hold up over time.

Not getting rid of the OEM connect, just in case the quick disconnect does fail over time...

the SB assault will be much better off trail and run circles around the pro-x. Not that pro-x will be terrible off trail, the SBA maneuvers easier and better off trail vs a long tracked trail sled with a 1.75. This goes for any of them. As far as not getting stuck, that is simple. do not be stupid and you wont get stuck.

I will be able to help u out with comparison to the assault as soon as we get some snow. I just traded n in my assault with a 1.352 track for a pro x with a 1.75. I really liked the assault and it handled great but as far as saying it will do circles around the pro x .... time will tell. Iam not saying the pro x is going to be as good but iam hoping with a few small mods the pro x should be a damn good off trail sled with limits of course.

Switching between my Pro X and my Summit X 154 last season was no comparison. A friend and I took them both out to break trail in 2-5ft drifts......

It will get around in the deep snow but it is no comparison to a mtn sled......you will work harder and have less room for error!

Be interesting to hear what you have to say later this year. I was on the fence about the Assault but because it was unchanged from for past years voted for the Pro X. as my ride. If they would have refreshed the Assault I'm sure alot of people would have ordered it.

I'm well aware of the abilities of longer track sleds. I do a 3 day ride in the Rockies every year, not trying to pretend to have a RMK for flatland riding. Be interesting to hear from anyone that does a good amount of powerline riding on the Pro X or Assault hear from the difference in uphill ability and how much you give up in that area over trail riding with the Assault which everyone know isnt the best.

See plenty of other guys rocking the Assault down the trails.

I own a switchy pro s . My son owns a switchy prox . And my other son owns an assault with a 1.35 cobra track . We did 60 miles of untracked pole line in Cochrane ontario Feb of 2015 .
Approx 4 ft of snow .
The prox was by far better than my pro s and a bunch of renegades that were on the trip . It was even better than the assault wich we did not expect .
Everyone Inc my son with the assault was very surprised .

I ride a Switch Pro x off trail regularly as my riding area is in western Newfoundland, Canada where we get to ride steep powderfilled power lines, tree lines and hill climb in the long range mountains. The pro x surprised a lot of people last year in my riding group which consists of free rides, renegades, and summits. It is night and day better then my 13 switch pro r 1.352 off trail and would compare closely to the renegades in powder but not as good as an assault. I will say though that the pro x is an excellent carver in powder and extremely flickable. I find the sled gets me wherever I want to go and has a high fun factor for jumping and launching off whatever you see! I love my pro x but it will never compare to an assault especially with a larger track in the pow!

Sweet I cant wait for a few big dumps of snow and to skip out on work to hit the POW! Be interesting to see my riding buddies try to keep up. Group has two Pro-S with 1.25 Rip. and other has Pro R with Cobra see how it stacks up.

They won't. That 1.75 just rocks compared to the smaller lugs and the ride height of the x doesn't hurt either. Like others say it's no pow specific machine for sure but as I say VERSATILITY is the strong suit with it.

i had an 11 sba loved the sled decided to try the axys this time because there was no 136 version of rush in 2011. i cant say for sure what it will do in alot of flat land powder due to terrible yr last yr. the x does trench more and doesnt float like my assualt even though the assualt had 1.35 cobra. compared to the x with 1.75 wich makes me think when there is enough snow it wont carve as well as the assualt either. that being said if u want a sled for deep snow and boondocking alone buy an assualt if u want a versitile ditch banging off trail wheelie moster that can play in the powed with a little extra work the x wont dissapoint. i ride 85% off trail and wouldnt consider buying a " trail machine" hope this helps

whats the feedback on the Pro X and it's abilities to side hill in ditches and other embankments? It was a big struggle to keep the Pro S on the line I wanted.

Had mine to the west coast of NFLD last season tons of snow. It does trench a bit on take off but other than that it was great, had no problems riding with the long tracks
